Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first to achieve a perfect 10 in an Olympic celebration. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci would go on to become the coach for Romania's gymnastics. In 1969, she competed in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international event in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior championship. She beat the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva who was the five-time European Champion at her first senior international competition held in 1975. In this event she was awarded four golds and one silver. She won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars and to use an inverse salto that doubled backward. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she was performing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the world of entertainment during her teens. When she was a child she began her journey as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show called Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating and included theatrical performances.
