April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) began her musical journey as a 7th grader in which she began guitar and piano lessons. April Lockhart penned her first song"Different" at twelve years old. At 14, April spent much time writing and honed her musical abilities. Then, she began going across NY and LA along with her dad so that they could both write songs. April also began incorporating additional relevant subjects into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with an ever-growing number of followers. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia in partnership, as well as being a specialist in lifestyle. Lockhart was never born with a left-hand, which is the reason she's who she is. However, that's not the full story. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her disability. But it also doesn't emphasize it. What is the message? That we all contain multitudes and that we are all unique and that we're much beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart in a video messages from his Nashville home, states that I don't wish for that to be a part of my character. I'm much greater than the physical person I am. This doesn't have any effect on my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found my own method of adjusting the things. It's also part of me so I think it's essential to discuss. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration on that front. Still she admits she's gone through periods of being uncomfortable with her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear specific types of clothes that showed off her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she wants. And she posts her photos on social networks. The key to self-love for her is that it's not a goal. This is true for everyone, regardless of their insecurity. The people you surround yourself with, who know your personal story and who can look through your eyes are the best people who can remind you of the things you're worrying about.
