Laura Linney, best known for her strong but fragile characters, is one of the most acclaimed American actors of the present. Her father was a renowned writer, however she was raised as an all-only child by a single mom, a nurse. In the summer and with her father Linney was able to develop a passion for theater. Linney eventually pursued acting first through Brown University then at Juilliard School. Her Broadway career after her graduation after which she made her debut on television the following year. She has appeared on numerous stages, films and television shows since that time. In her professional career, she has won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards. However, despite all the awards, her passion for the theatre isn't gone constant, as she performs as a stage performer and screen.
