Jenna Fischer has become best known as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. In the course of playing this character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
Her mother, Anne was a performer in church theater when she was young and instilled a passion for theater and performances in Jenna. Jenna watched her mom, Anne, perform in performances at church while she was a child, which instilled a love of theater and performance.
Fischer was a theater actress trained in her native country. She starred as Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway play Reasons to be Happy. In the following play, she was a part of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist comedy starring Greg Germanyn as well as Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's debut world premiere.
